Medical assistants work in doctor’s offices, hospitals and clinics providing assistance to patients, physicians and other health care providers. Medical assisting jobs are becoming more in demand as employers utilize the knowledge and skills a medical assistant brings to the facility. It is not required at this time for MA to complete a medical assisting training course to work in the field. Although some employers prefer to hire those with experience, MA without experience can also find jobs within the industry.
Medical assistants (MA) are trained health-care providers who work in environments such as a physician’s practice, dentist’s office, hospital, clinic or school. They provide patient care and assist doctors with treatments and procedures. A MA performs initial patient assessments, which includes a preliminary physical exam. They obtain a patient’s vital signs and gather information pertaining to one’s medical history.
