About Nursing Program Accreditation

Written by Aunice Reed

The purpose of professional accreditation is to evaluate the level of credibility and quality certain educational programs provide to students. Nursing programs are assessed according to how well they meet specific criteria and intended goals. Evaluations are performed consistently at planned intervals. If a nursing program receives accreditation, it has been found to have passed all of the required standards and criteria set forth by the agency.
